Allow the candle to burn until the entire surface has melted uniformly. Generally, this process takes:
**2 to 4 hours for double-wick 16 oz. and dough bowl candles
**3 to 4 hours for single-wick 16 oz. candles
**1 to 2 hours for 4 oz. candles.
This technique helps to avoid tunneling and guarantees a consistent burn. Please remember that double-wick candle containers can become quite hot after extended use, so they should be handled with extreme care. Please refer to our safety guidelines in the FAQ section.
**Allow the candle to cool completely for a minimum of two hours before touching or relocating it.
**Always light candles on a sturdy, heat-resistant surface.
**Double-wick and single-wick 16 oz. candle jars can become extremely hot after burning for over three hours. Avoid touching or moving a candle that is lit or contains melted wax to avoid thermal shock.
**Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax is left to prevent the bottom of the jar from overheating and potentially breaking.
Our candles are crafted with lead-free cotton wicks to ensure a clean burn. If you notice your candle beginning to smoke, it may indicate that the wick is either too long or has developed a mushroom shape; in such cases, extinguish the candle. After the candle has cooled, be sure to trim the wick before relighting it for optimal performance.
